​• Cover various sporting events and games in the greater Los Angeles area. Conduct interviews with coaches, players, and sports personalities for ABC 7’s Eyewitness News’ sportscasts. Notable events/teams: NHL All Star Game, Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, Angels, Kings, Ducks, and UCLA/USC’s teams. 
• Assist producers by logging sports telecasts and transcribing interviews for nightly newscasts and special event shows: Rams Primetime Saturday and Slam Dunk
• Created detailed outline to assist’s the producers and reporters on Spring Training storylines for Dodgers and Angels. Information included additions, subtractions, questions heading into season, interesting tidbits on players, and what pundits were saying about their outlook going into the season.

Post hourly segments as podcasts to the show’s national website, write description about what each hour of show is about for national website, and transcribe guest interviews to send to media outlets

The scholarship is awarded in honor of Steven Fishman, a former broadcast journalism student at CSUN who died of cancer.
